Friday, the 25thm, we will launch the conference with a critical harbour tour by Hamburger Hafengruppe. Hardly anyone knows better the development of the harbour throughout the past decades than these comrades. The port of Hamburg is the third biggest container port in Europe. There are few places in Germany which embody the transformation of work, the ongoing technisation as well as the colonial origins of global trade as much as the harbour. A perfect entry point to central debates of the conference! We will meet at 10.30 am at U-Bahn Station Baumwall, exit Überseebrücke. As space is limited, registration for the tour is obligatory. Besides, we have to ask for a contribution fee of 9-11€.
Registration for the habour tour
